Allan Saint-Maximin opens up about which position he will play at Newcastle United

Newcastle United new boy Allan Saint-Maximin has revealed his versatility after completing his £16.5million move from Nice.

The 22-year-old has operated out wide for much of his career but is open minded about his role at St James' Park this season.

Saint-Maximin has been handed the number 10 shirt after being signed Steve Bruce.

Speaking after arriving from Ligue 1, he said: "It’s a very good position for me.

"But I can play in the middle, winger, I don’t care.

"I just want to play to show what I can do on the pitch and help the team."

The new boy is delighted with his new club and can't wait to get started, he told NUFC TV: "I want to do that and score and do some assists after, because I know it’s very important.

"If you want to win, it’s not with some dribbles you win, you have to score, makes assists, run and work hard.

"My play is some dribbling.

"I know a lot of fans love that."

When asked his opening impressions about St James', he said: "It’s amazing.

"It’s very, very big and the atmosphere and everything I feel so good.

"I want to play."
