Allan Saint-Maximin mercilessly trolls Sunderland fan after his Newcastle United comment

Allan Saint-Maximin has aimed another brutal dig at rivals Sunderland that Newcastle United fans will love.

The French forward has firmly established himself as a fans's favourite through his performances on the pitch and his hilarious interactions on social media.

Saint-Maximin's return to action following his lengthy recovery from Covid-19 has coincided with an upturn in form for Steve Bruce's side.

The 23-year-old made his first start for more than two months in Saturday's nail-biting victory over Southampton, having enjoyed several recent cameo appearances from the bench.

Saint-Maximin has not been shy in the past at responding to taunts from Sunderland supporters on social media, and has once again taken the opportunity to troll a rival fan from Wearside.

Using the viral clip from The Weeknd's performance at the Superbowl, the French star responded to a post from a Black Cats fan and reminded Newcastle's rivals of their status in League One.

It was post which unsurprisingly spread quickly among football fans on Twitter, with more 3,000 retweets within an hour.

Newcastle fans were quick to praise Saint-Maximin for another jibe at Sunderland's expense.

One Newcastle fan wrote: "Allan this is superb."

Another Magpies supporter commented: No words anymore. You're too good."

A third football fan posted: "Arguably the best reply ever from a professional footballer."
