Allan Saint-Maximin feels 'much better' at Newcastle United and there's plenty more to come

Allan Saint-Maximin admits he feels 'much better' at Newcastle United after adapting to the Premier League and settling into life in the North East.

The Frenchman has quickly established himself as a firm fans' favourite with his dribbling ability, lightning pace and unique style on and off the field.

Saint-Maximin had a couple of muscle injuries in his first few months at St James' Park, and had to get used to having to do more high-intensity running during games than he did in Ligue 1, but the 23-year-old has become a key player under Steve Bruce.

Jamaal Lascelles has tipped Saint-Maximin 'to do even better' next season while Jonjo Shelvey believes the fact he has 'improved a lot defensively' will 'make him even better'.

While it is not yet clear when the Premier League will get back under way, as clubs vote on players returning to training in small groups with social distancing, Saint-Maximin has learnt a lot from his first few months on Tyneside.

"It's a big challenge for me because before I played in the French league and it's really different, the league," he said in a Q&A on STORMGAIN'S YouTube channel.

"For me, England is the best league and is a big challenge because when I play in England, I have to talk differently because I have to speak English.

"For me, it's really different with the dressing room, my partner, everything, but I feel much better now."
