Allan Saint-Maximin aims joke at Liverpool star Fabinho and makes red card claim

Newcastle United star Allan Saint-Maximin has made a joke involving himself and a challenge with Fabinho during Saturday’s game.

Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw with the Magpies in the Premier League, with Mohamed Salah scoring the only goal for the Reds.

Callum Wilson thought he equalised for Newcastle before his effort was disallowed for handball by VAR, before Arsenal loanee Joe Willock scored in the closing moments to see Liverpool drop two further points in successive games.

Saint-Maximin was arguably Newcastle’s most productive attacking outlet for much of the game, forcing Ozan Kabak into an early yellow card at Anfield.

In the second half, with the game getting more stretched, the 24-year-old threatened to counter-attack after a Liverpool corner.

However, Fabinho stepped in forcefully to prevent the break and received a booking which he knew he would get.

Quoting a video on Twitter which showed the foul from Fabinho, Saint-Maximin aimed a joke at the Brazilian admitting he hoped the Liverpool man was sent off.

“Before: Haha I’m going to win that foot race with Fabinho,” Saint-Maximin wrote on Twitter.

“After: mdjeuhhdhhszzzokrf.

Saint-Maximin added: “Still best mate @_fabinhotavares, even though I wished you had a red card not going to lie.”
