A victim of a serial rapist who posed as an internet blackmailer to trick her into performing sex acts said she will live in fear if he is ever released.
Allan Rotchford, who extorted graphic sexual images from women by threatening to expose intimate pictures online, was yesterday warned he faces a life sentence.
The 34-year-old committed a catalogue of sex crimes against victims over a decade in Edinburgh, West Lothian and Ayrshire.
Last night, one of his traumatised victims, Jane – not her real name – said: “There is a thrill for him in seeing what he can get away with.
“His fantasy is rape and that is never going to disappear. He has always been like that and he always will be.
“He should never walk the streets again. He will always be a danger.”
Rotchford told Jane that he would put graphic pictures of her online unless she sent him images of herself performing the acts he wanted.
He demanded to see her both alone and with her partner – in other words, himself.
Playing the blackmailer, Rotchford used a bogus Facebook profile to bombard Jane with more than 6000 messages coercing her into fulfilling his sordid rape fantasies.
But playing himself, he told Jane she had no choice but to obey her tormentor’s orders.
Jane said she would never have gone along with it if she had not believed she was being extorted.
She was not Rotchford’s first victim, or his last.
He had four in all, abusing them horribly over a decade from 2009. He used a similar blackmail scam on one of the women to the one he used on Jane.
After Jane had him arrested, he found a new partner and repeatedly raped her while on bail.
He was earlier found guilty of 12 charges following a trial, including six rape offences, indecent assault and extortion.
Another victim Mary (not her real name) who was repeatedly raped by Rotchford said: “He is an extremely dangerous, volatile and manipulative individual who will probably see an OLR as a game."
