Allan pre-season absence explained as Everton quartet expect swift return

A number of Everton players are undertaking a phased return to pre-season due to quarantine regulations.

Moise Kean, Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Bernard have all been given individual work to complete from home after returning from countries which require an isolation period.

All four players will look to be reintroduced to the group of teammates at Finch Farm in the coming days once their spells in quarantine have come to an end.

The majority of Everton's squad reported back to the club on Monday morning to undergo tests as pre-season got underway following the appointment of Rafa Benitez.

Despite rumours surrounding his future, James Rodriguez was one of those back at the training complex to begin the week after his surprise omission from Colombia's Copa America squad.

Those who are taking parts in summer tournaments either in South America or as part of Euro 2020 have been granted extended breaks before returning for pre-season.

The Blues currently have three summer matches on their schedule, beginning with two taking place in the USA at the end of this month as the club takes part in the Florida Cup.

Everton will face Millonarios on July 25th before facing either Arsenal or Inter Milan.

The Blues are then due to face Manchester United at Old Trafford on August 7th, a week before getting their 2020/21 campaign underway against Southampton at Goodison Park.
