Allan McGregor beats Joe Hart as Celtic and Rangers voting war is sparked in UEFA ultimate keeper question

You won't find much that Rangers and Celtic fans will admit to agreeing on and certainly not when it comes to comparing their respective players.

Whether it's Henrik Larsson or Brian Laudrup, Nuno Capucho vs Rafael Scheidt, no quarter will be given in the battle for supremacy.

It's perhaps not surprising then that when UEFA looked to establish whether Allan McGregor or Joe Hart is the better goalkeeper the governing body was flooded with responses.

The Europa League account posted a poll simply asking which man reigned supreme and received more than 30,000 votes.

Rangers vs Celtic, Scotland vs England, it was always going to be a contentious one.

In the end it was McGregor who triumphed with 56 per cent of the vote, but not before a furious debate raged in the replies.

Here are some of the highlights.

@thomasB1967: One is an ex Hull City player, the other is a Manchester City legend

@marcovanbronck: One has conceded the most goals in the Europa League and the other is Allan McGregor.

@woofly32: Most goals conceded whilst McGregor pretty much qualified us. Crazy

@craig_c83: A Man City legend, played at world cups, multiple premier league winner vs the ex Hull goalie

@joedoherty21: Sergio Aguero or Sone Aluko?

@loganf67: Hart was one time one of the best keepers in the world, miles ahead

@reidler53: Is the question which one is still in the competition ?
