Allan, James Rodriguez and Doucoure grant Richarlison's Everton transfer wish

Richarlison is getting exactly what he wants at Everton.

The Brazil ace has, since his arrival from Watford in 2018, been the Blues' talisman.

Ask any Evertonian and most - if not all - would be quick to pick him out as the club's best player.

The talented forward has the stats to back him up having scored 29 times in 79 appearances in what has been an entertaining time on Merseyside so far.

But when Barcelona links appeared in January there may have been a worry among the fan base that the same, old story was about to be told with a star player moving on.

But not this time.

Richarlison, who off the pitch is studying hard to improve his English, has been committed to the cause on Merseyside ever since he signed on the dotted line and again when he renewed his contract in December. And since Carlo Ancelotti's arrival this commitment has only furthered.

Links to Barca then seem even more far-fetched now than they did mere months ago.

Why? Well, because Everton have just made a huge statement by signing midfield trio Allan, James Rodriguez and Abdoulaye Doucoure that's why.

The Blues spending spree has focused on improving what Ancelotti, soon after his arrival, sussed out to be a problematic area of the pitch for Everton.

Allan will provide the defensive solidity he displayed week in and week out during his Napoli tenure.

Rodriguez brings creativity, flair and let's face it a whole load of excitement ever since he touched down in Liverpool.

Doucoure will add some much-needed energy to the middle of the park, and has Premier League experience to boot having appeared 129 times in English football's top flight.

But what each of these players also give to Richarlison - Everton's main man - is priceless.

Allan in particular spoke of Richarlison's pulling power after he signed for the Blues. The 29-year-old said: "I talked a lot with Richarlison during the negotiations about coming to Everton.

"He was asking me, 'When are you coming? We need you here, come here'."

The fellow Brazil international brings with him a sense of home, and a shared goal to be playing in every game for the Selecao and the Toffees respectively. And Richarlison is right, he's needed as Everton look to push on under Ancelotti.

Rodriguez, along with the South American connection, will give Richarlison insight.

He's a 'Galactico' with a bucketload of winners' medals and millions of adoring fans. He is the perfect example of the type of stature Richarlison is building towards and is capable of becoming.

The two-time Champions League winner is importantly in an illustrious bracket of world class players too. Which makes him the perfect team-mate in more ways than one.

Doucoure arrives from Vicarage Road, the same place Richarlison once called home.

The pair were team-mates and this brings with it security and familiarity. Richarlison knows what Doucoure is capable of, and knows how it feels to be the new boy on Merseyside. They pick up where they left off and help each other out.

It is clear to see how each stellar professional is going to add to the 23-year-old's burgeoning game.

I guess without Ancelotti, without this influx of signings, Richarlison may have felt apprehensive heading into the 2020/21 campaign.

A 12th place finish last season didn't taste good.

This is more of what he wants. He wants to be playing in a team with Allan, James and Doucoure. That's the reason he left Watford after one standout campaign.

Maybe he could sense it was a sinking ship. When Everton reached out he reached back. He knew it was an even bigger opportunity.

When he came to Goodison Park, he came to avoid a relegation scrap with Watford. He came to never finish in the bottom half of the table again.

The boy from Nova Venecia came in search of European football and ultimately, trophies.

Richarlison and his brilliance was of course met with immediate adoration from Evertonians. His goals and performances helped forge that particular love story.

But Everton didn't mean business like they do now. Maybe they did but they weren't conducting it like they are now with Ancelotti at the helm.

So, just as he welcomed the adoration of thousands of Evertonians, Richarlison will welcome these new arrivals which bring with them a renewed hope.

Now, not only are the forward's ambitions being matched but most importantly so are his talents.
