Allan Campbell: Hamilton will get in our faces and Well need to match that

Allan Campbell says Motherwell must stand up to Hamilton in today's derby crunch, and their quality will show through after that.

The midfield ace is desperate to grab a win over their rivals this season, having fallen to 1-0 and 3-0 defeats at home and away this season.

Campbell, 22, who scored in a 1-0 win at Kilmarnock in midweek, says Hamilton make life difficult for teams by getting in their faces, and he says Motherwell need to match that.

He said: "Derbies are firey, there are tackles, it's aggressive, and there have been ups and downs - we've won a few, lost a few - and we hope to win this one at the weekend.

"Hamilton make it difficult for you, they're a tough team to play against.

"They get in your faces and make it hard, but we just need to stand up to that, match them in that way, show our qualities and get the result.

"The fans want you to beat their rivals, and as players you want to do the best for the fans who can't be there.

"They'll be watching on, we want to put a performance in and keep carrying on this good run of form we've got, put in a performance and get a result.

"There are a lot of positives to take from all the performances.

"If you look at the Celtic game, in the second half we played really good football and got a really good result in midweek there.

"There are a lot of positives to take, going into this game at the weekend, so we just need to get a result."

Campbell is obviously conscious that his contract is up in the summer, and the club say they knocked back substantial bids for him in January, but he says his focus is simply on doing the best he can for Motherwell.

He said: "I'm not really bothered about that just now, my focus has always been on playing football.

"I've always said that I love playing football, I'm enjoying my football and I'm just looking forward to the weekend.

"Hopefully we can keep putting performances in and keep getting wins.

"There's no point thinking about what's going to happen, you just need to focus on the here and now.

"I've always been like that, I've always just focused on the next game and on making sure I give my all for the team and get results for this club."
