The night sky above Glasgow was lit up this evening thanks to this year's spectacular Christmas lights switch-on event.
Around 13,000 lucky ticket holders packed George Square take in the occasion, which was hosted by Radio Clyde and featured performances from Michelle McManus and members of the Soundsational Choir and the cast of The Steamie.
And with Santa even making a special appearance to the delight of the crowd, it's fair to say that the city is bursting with festive spirit now as we count down the days to Christmas.

It's the first of a series of events to take place in the city over the festive period. St Enoch Square Christmas market is officially open, and George Square market opens on Sunday, November 24.
The event signalled the city’s official countdown to December 25.
