All you need to know about refunds if you had tickets to abandoned India v New Zealand match at Trent Bridge

The Cricket World Cup match between India and New Zealand at Trent Bridge was abandoned at 3pm yesterday (June 13) without a ball being bowled in anger.

The decision came as days of heavy downpours continued across Nottinghamshire, causing widespread surface flooding.

And the International Cricket Council (ICC) have confirmed all fans who had tickets for the match will get a full refund.

ICC rules on abandoned games state if there are less than 15 overs bowled in a match, a full refund is given. This is reduced to 50 percent if there are 15-30 overs of play and no refund if more than 30 overs are bowled.

A spokesman for the organisation, which organises the Cricket World Cup, told Nottinghamshire Live the refunds will be issued directly to the ticket purchaser's bank account.

Trent Bridge was chosen to host five games during the World Cup. The final game takes place on Thursday, June 20, between Australia and Bangladesh.

A report produced before the tournament got under way indicated Nottingham was set to benefit by about £18 million from people coming to matches and spending on food, drink and merchandise.

It also stated the area would be boosted by wider spending in the hospitality, retail and transport sectors.
