All you need to know about Nottingham Forest trialist Quentin Vieira

Sabri Lamouchi named ex-Lyon defender Quentin Vieira on the bench for Tuesday's friendly clash with Dundee.

The youngster, who first met the squad on the morning of the game, is Nottingham Forest 's first trialist of the summer, and slots in on a bench already brimmed with defensive talents Joe Worrall, Alex Milosevic and Jayden Richardson.

But who is he? And is he about to become Lamouchi's first signing?

His short career so far

After four years with Lyon, the 20-year-old is set to leave this summer after spending his formative years with the French giants.

He signed his first trainee deal at Stade de Lumieres in 2015 after he was poached from nearby rivals Saint-Etienne.

And quickly progressed to feature for the club's Under-19s side at UEFA Champions Youth League level.

The left-footed central defender, who can also play left-back, was a regular in a successful Lyon youth side managed by ex-Brazil defender Cris.

Portugal youth international

He has also represented Portugal, after pledging his allegiance to the nation of his grandfather.

His first call-up came in 2016 as part of a three-day youth internship.

"My family is from Porto," he told Olympique-de-Lyonnais.com.

"My grandfather is a fan of FC Porto, so he was able to transmit to me the passion of this club.

"It was an immense pride to be called with Portugal."

Is he a free agent?

After first penning a two-year trainee contract in 2015, the defender renewed his contract two years later in a deal that took him up to this summer.

But it is not known whether his contract has any hidden clauses that see him remain a Lyon player.

He has however already wished his teammates farewell, writing on his Instargam page: "The end of four beautiful years with you, Lyon. Thank you for everything.

"Ready to take up a new challenge."

If he does join Forest, it would likely to play in the Under-23s initially.
