Workbenches are one of Hytale’s most important crafting systems, as these act as your main way to turn raw resources into useful gear, tools, and building pieces.
The game doesn’t rely on a single generic table. Instead, you unlock a chain of themed benches, starting from the basic Builder’s Workbench and all the way to dedicated stations for farming, armor crafting, salvaging, alchemy, furniture, and more.
Each one has a fixed recipe and opens its own crafting menu with a unique item list. As you move into new zones and start looting materials, you start unlocking more benches. This guide has everything you need to know about Workbenches in Hytale.

How to unlock Workbenches in Hytale

Firstly, you need to craft a basic Workbench using pocket crafting from your inventory. Once you do that, craft a Builder’s Workbench using six Tree Trunks and three Stones.
Doing so will then let you craft all the other specialized workbenches. Then, once you upgrade your initial Workbench to Level 2, you’ll unlock three more Workbenches. Remember, higher-tier benches will need metals, fibers, and mob drops, so they naturally unlock as you explore deeper areas and start smelting ore and farming enemies.

Always build the Builder’s Workbench as soon as possible, since you can craft every other specialized station using that. Also, prioritize building the Farmer’s and Armorer’s Workbenches early, and then move into Salvager and Alchemist once you are regularly farming iron, gold, and mob drops in plenty.
The Arcanist’s Workbench should be your long-term goal, as the materials needed to build it, such as Thorium and Essence of the Void, are tied to late-game zones. In the meantime, do check how to add, invite, and join multiplayer friends in Hytale.
