Women being admitted to Ayrshire Maternity Unit will be tested for coronavirus from tomorrow.
NHS Ayrshire & Arran Women and Children’s Service — run by Ayrshire Maternity Unit — announced today that inpatients to the unit would be tested for the deadly virus.
Health experts say that this also applies to women being admitted for induction of labour, elective caesarean section and any emergency admissions.
A post on their Facebook page reads: "From tomorrow, January 18, 2021.
"In line with current recommendations all women being admitted as an inpatient to Ayrshire Maternity Unit will have a Covid test carried out.
"This includes women being admitted for induction of labour, elective caesarean section and any emergency admissions to the unit."
