'All will be forgiven' - Arsenal fans react to Mesut Ozil's latest social media update

Arsenal fans have been reacting to Mesut Ozil's latest social media post.

Ozil remains on the periphery of the Gunners' squad amid continued criticism both on the back of his performances last season and his contract.

His £350,000-per-week contract remains a source of grievance for many Arsenal fans, and perhaps even those at the club.

The German has less than a year remaining on his current deal and could leave for free next summer.

Mikel Arteta: Nketiah is good enough to start

But until then, whether he plays or not, the Gunners will have to continue shelling out huge amounts of money to pay Ozil, unless he leaves before the end of the window, which appears unlikely at this stage.

That has led some fans to believe Mikel Arteta should get his use out of Ozil to make the money worth paying.

And that has become clear in the reaction to Ozil's latest Twitter post, which included a picture of him smiling in training accompanied by emojis including a lion, praying hands and a '100' along with the hashtags 'M10', 'always smile', 'positivity' and 'YaGunnersYa'.

Here's how fans reacted.

Ozil was left out of Arsenal's opening two games of the season and he didn't feature for the Gunners after the restart last term.

The Germany international had initially struggled with a back injury, but Arteta later reasoned that he continued to leave the midfielder out due to footballing reasons.
