A garda investigation is underway after a man in his 40s was shot in broad daylight in Dublin on Friday morning.
The victim is being treated for serious injuries in hospital following the incident at around 11.30am.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on the South Circular Road in Kilmainham.

The scene at the entrance ramp to the hotel's underground car park has been cordoned off.
It is understood that the shooting is gang-related and that the victim had previously survived an attempt on his life in other recent shooting incidents.
An incident room has been established at Kilmainham Garda Station.
One theory is that the man was chased into the hotel's underground carpark by the gunman, where he suffered at least half a dozen gunshot wounds.
The area is popular and busy, with a number of tourist attractions nearby.
Sinn Fein councillor Daithí Doolan has slammed this morning's shooting as "totally wrong".
He tweeted: "Serious shooting in Kilmainham. This attack is totally wrong. Broad daylight any one could have been fatally shot. Those involved must be apprehended & face justice. Minister McEntee must respond immediately & give extra resources to Gardaí in Dublin."
The scene is currently preserved, and a technical examination is to be conducted.
No arrests have been made at this time. Investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses, particularly road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the South Circular Road in the Kilmainham area to contact Kilmainham Garda Station on 01-6669700, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
