While VALORANT doesn’t have actual seasons, its progression system is based on an interesting model featuring a single “Season” and multiple “Acts” in it. You’ve come to the right place to know more about competitive seasons, season dates, and the next VALORANT Act.
Starting in 2025, VALORANT shifted to a new seasonal format, featuring a year-long Season that hosts six Acts of two months each. Previously, “Episodes” ran for six months with three two-month Acts in them. Everything is essentially the same with the new Season system, but players can now enjoy a seamless yearly transition instead of a major switch every six months.
While every Act comes with a significant update, which treats VALORANT players to new content like agents, maps, and modes, the biggest changes of a season tend to drop every three Acts (previously Episodes). This design gives the community enough time to enjoy the additions without overloading them with too much new content, keeping the game fresh and fun. To help you keep track, here are the start and end dates of all VALORANT Episodes, Seasons, and Acts so far.

When is the next VALORANT Act?
As per the in-game timer under the Act Rank tab (Career page), the ongoing Act four of VALORANT Season V25 ends on Aug. 20 (CT). And considering Riot plans to continue following the trend, the next Act five should start on the same day as Act four’s conclusion, that is Aug. 20. For eastern countries (APAC), Act five is expected to go live on Aug. 21. The dates may shift if Riot runs into a hiccup, but the chances of that happening are pretty low.
You should be able to experience Season V25, Act five, right after Riot concludes a couple of hours of server maintenance, which is aimed at getting the game ready for the update.
After the maintenance ends, you should see a pending update in the Riot Client app: Download it to access the upcoming Act. You may be able to download the patch before the maintenance starts. Turn on automatic updates from the Riot Client settings if you don’t want to keep track of these patches manually. Based on old release times, we can predict when the update for VALORANT Season V25, Act five, will go live, according to your region. Mark the following times:
- North America, LATAM, Brazil: Aug. 20 between 8am to 1pm CT
- Korea, Asia-Pacific: Aug. 21 between 6am to 8am KST
- Europe: Aug. 21 between 2am to 5am UTC
Again, these timings aren’t confirmed and are subject to change based on the update’s size or if Riot changes its plans.
