All Together Now appearance for Walbottle sisters Caitlin and Shannon Hurst

Two Newcastle singers are keeping it in the family as they go for TV stardom on hit BBC show All Together Now this weekend.

Walbottle's Caitlin and Shannon Hurst will appear on the latest episode of the new series of the singing contest Saturday night, when viewers will see them aim to impress 'The 100' , which includes Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, with their version of Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time.

The episode was actually shot last autumn, meaning that 19 year old Caitlin and 23 year old sister Shannon have had to keep quiet for nearly months as to how they got on.

And they're remaining tight lipped ahead of their appearance this weekend.

Shannon, who works at Tesco in Kingston Park, told Chronicle Live "You'll have to watch on Saturday to see but we had an absolutely amazing time on the show; I'd jump at the chance to do it again.

"We met some fantastic singers. It was absolutely brilliant and it was great that we could take family and friends to be in the audience to watch us sing."

Gemma Collins on All Together Now

As is often stressed on All Together Now, song choice is absolutely crucial and The Hurst Sisters settled on Time After Time after mulling over a few suggestions on the list put together by The 100.

And, while they can't reveal what exactly she said to them, they got some feedback from Geri herself for their Cyndi Lauper cover.

It's often said you should never work with your siblings, but Caitlin, who works at Sainsbury's in Throckley and Shannon say, after a few years of singing and competing together, there have been no major fallouts...yet!

"We do argue a bit over song choice and things but we get there in the end," Caitlin joked.
