All things Thai food

The food fest will showcase Thai gastronomy and culinary specialities. Tourism Authority of Thailand

Siam Square's main thoroughfare once again will be turned into a delicious foodie haven, where top bites from around Bangkok and beyond will be served daily, 11am-8pm, from Friday until SundayJune 7-9.

A collaboration between the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Office of Property Management, Chulalongkorn University, the Amazing Thai Taste Festival 2019 will gather 120 prime food selections from all over the country under the theme "Thailand Food Paradise".

The third edition of the mega food fest is an opportunity to savour the delicacies of the famous Jok Toh Diew (or Jok's One Table) of Yaowarat; the popular, scrupulously-prepared crepes by Crepe Pa Chuay from Lat Phrao; Chookiat Congee from Klong San; and worth-the-wait drinks by Midnight a Cocoa from the Saphan Phut night market.

Local cuisine from all five regions include baked goodies from Chiang Mai's Nana Jungle, the signature salapao or Chinese steamed buns from Songkhla's Go Uan, and the famous bowls of kanom sen nam yoi from Phrae's Kad Nam Thong Jo Yok.

Those into Michelin Guide eateries will surely look forward to the signature mee krob (sweet-and-sour crispy noodles), yam takrai (lemongrass salad) and gaeng kua poo cha-om (herbed crab curry with acacia pennata) from Methavalai Sorndaeng, as well as the beef stew from Ten Suns.

Street-food highlights that will have foodies queuing up include Patonggo Savoey from Yaowarat, Elvis Suki and Kuay Teow Kua Gai Nai Hong, while ready-made organic meals will be available for health-conscious visitors.

There is also a dedicated cooking class zone offering workshops conducted by celebrities, including ones on Thai-style tea with milk, ice cream and the luk chup Thai dessert.

Thai pop stars, recording artists and local bands will take turns performing in the evening starting at 4pm. The line-up includes Nont Tanont, Getsunova, Tom Isara, Atom Chanakan, Sweat16! and Oat Pramote.
