Seven-year-old Zoe Crossingham and her five-year-old cousin Charlotte Dennewald carried a cat-unicorn fairy floss around the Newcastle Racecourse.
"We have been waiting for it all day," Zoe said.
Almost the size of them, the pair dug into the sugary sweet cloud as hungry attendees browsed the wild and wacky stalls at the Newcastle Viral Food Festival on Saturday June 20.
"We had rainbow cheese toastie and a blue gummy bear drink," Zoe said.
The festival ran for three days until June 21 and featured more than 50 stalls serving up unique street foods such as scoopable cookie dough pie, cake in a can, bubble waffles loaded with ice-cream and Labubu bao buns shaped like animals.
Tickets cost $7 per person at the gate with children under three going in for free.
There was also a full day of entertainment including a DJ, live wrestling, rides and games for an extra cost and a live band playing each night.
Conway Oakhill-Saarenpaa travelled from Medowie to try all the fun foods with his friend Evie Page.
Evie was enjoying a passionfruit lemonade while Conway sipped on a peach iced tea in a bear shaped bottle.
"It's very sweet, much more sweet than a regular ice tea," Conway said.
"I think it's really cool, such a vibe," Evie said.
The friends had already tried pork and chives dumplings and were keen to try a cookie dough pie.
Camyrn Williams was snacking on the viral cake in a can.
"I saw it all over social media, so I definitely wanted to come on down," she said.
Ms Williams had travelled in with some friends from Singleton and was excited to explore the festival for the first time.
Before the festival kicked off, organiser Sam Adams told the Newcastle Herald they started the festival less than a year ago after noticing an "explosion" of food vendors showing their food online.
Last year, the Newcastle event saw thousands of people coming through the gates, Mr Adams said.
