So, let’s get into all the spicy details from the proposal itself to the lore the Swifties have uncovered.
The ring
Put some sunnies on because Taylor’s engagement ring is a blinding doozy. According to gemologist appraiser Deborah Villepigue, the yellow-gold ring appears to feature an antique cushion-cut diamond.
She estimates that it is an eight to 15-carat stone which sits at a D colour grade, the highest on the diamond scale.
She also believes that the diamond likely has a clarity of VVS1 or better. This means that the diamond is very, very slightly included with only teeny-tiny microscopic inclusions unable to be seen with the human eye. VVS1 also represents the top one per cent of diamonds.
Pretty impressive, no?
Speaking to Forbes, Villepigue theorised that the diamond could be up to 13 carats thanks to the longstanding significance the number has held for the Midnights singer.
With all this considered, she believes the ring is worth around $650,000 USD ($1,000,915.75 AUD approximately).
The date and time could be significant
If there’s one thing we know about Taylor, it’s that she’s a sentimental gal who loves an easter egg. There seem to be plenty of references throughout her engagement. One of the first that fans pinpointed was the significance of the date.
Despite some theories that they’ve been engaged since July, fans think that the 26th of August (US time) is significant for a few reasons — and they’re all to do with Taylor’s favourite number 13.
Exactly 13 days before the engagement news came out, Taylor appeared on Travis’ podcast New Heights for one of the most relaxed and lengthy interviews she’d ever given. It was the first time we really got to know them as a couple. The date, the 26th, is also 13+13.
Elsewhere in the podcast interview, the princess of pop dished on her love for numberology.
“I love numerology,” she said on the podcast. “I love math stuff, I love dates. That stuff I find really fun.”

What Travis Kelce wants in a marriage
Just weeks before announcing the engagement, Travis spoke about his thoughts on marriage in a profile with GQ.
“The handful of my friends whose parents are still together and still thriving — those are situations I would love to have,” he said.
“Not that I think my parents dealt with it the wrong way or anything like that. It’s more so, if we’re gonna start this and do it, why not try and do it to last forever? Not just in a ‘It’s just for the kids’ aspect.”
Travis’ parents opened up about their split in the 2023 documentary Kelce and noted that they waited until Travis and his brother Jason were adults before they split.

“Aghghgghghhh! Our girl is getting MARRIED!” he wrote.
