All the shops still open in Liverpool during coronavirus lockdown: Boots, B&M, Home Bargains & more

Monday evening's announcement saw the Prime Minister order all 'non-essential' stores to close due to the coronavirus pandemic, meaning you can no longer visit the majority of clothing, beauty and jewellery shops.

The closure is to help prevent the spread of the virus, with people told to only leave their homes for essential items, if they're key workers or for their one form of daily exercise.

John Lewis, Primark, Debenhams and all of the city's bars, pubs and restaurants are now closed temporarily.

However, some high street stores are still open including Boots - which stocks medicines and B&M which stock many items which are deemed 'essential', reports Birmingham Live.

Hardware stores like B&Q were allowed to stay open by the Government, however the retailer took to Twitter last night to confirm stores will remain closed to customers and instead will be operating from its website only.

Other than the main supermarkets, there are plenty of places from which you can get your food and household supplies during the lockdown.

These include corner shops, petrol stations, and newsagents - all of which have been deemed 'essential services' by the UK government.

Below, we've taken a look at the shops, other than supermarkets, which remain open to shoppers. It is worth checking with your local branches before visiting as opening times may vary from usual hours given the high demand on many of these stores:
