Pizza Hut is to shut 68 restaurants after the company behind its UK dine-in venues fell into administration.
The closures will see 1,210 jobs across the UK at risk of redundancy and 11 delivery sites are also set to close.
DC London Pie, the firm running Pizza Hut's UK restaurants, appointed administrators from corporate finance firm FTI on Monday.
It comes less than a year after the business had itself bought the chain's restaurants from insolvency.
On Monday, American hospitality giant Yum! Brands, which owns the global Pizza Hut business, said it has now bought the UK restaurant operation in a pre-pack administration deal.
The rescue deal will save 64 sites and secure the future of 1,277 workers.
Pizza Hut first launched in the UK in 1973 and had more than 260 restaurants across the country at its height.
In 2020, it was forced to close 29 branches amid financial difficulties brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
There are 13 Pizza Hut restaurants inside the M25 - nine of these are set to close while four have been rescued.

Pizza Hut has a number of other takeaway and delivery franchisees in the UK which have been unaffected by the news.
A spokesperson for the company said: “Pizza Hut UK announces the acquisition of the Pizza Hut dine-in operations through a pre-packaged administration, after FTI was announced today as administrators of DC London Pie Limited, a franchisee of Pizza Hut.
“We are pleased to secure the continuation of 64 sites to safeguard our guest experience and protect the associated jobs. Approximately 1,277 team member roles will be saved under UK TUPE legislation, including above-restaurant leaders and support teams.
“Nicolas Burquier, Managing Director International Operating Markets, said: “This targeted acquisition aims to safeguard our guest experience and protect jobs where possible. Our immediate priority is operational continuity at the acquired locations and supporting colleagues through the transition.”
A delivery site in Uxbridge will also be closed.
