All the North East roads that will be closed this week

There are a number of roads and streets across the region that will be closed this week, causing all kinds of traffic disruption for motorists.

Take a look at our list provided below and make sure to make allowances for these closures as you go about your travels in the coming days. Diversion routes will be in place on various roads and it is worth factoring these into your plans.

Here are the road closures in the North East for this coming week from Monday, April 11 to Friday, April 16.

  • There will be a temporary traffic regulation order on the High Level Bridge between 25th April and the 8th May.

  • The A1(M) Southbound will be closed due to roadworks during the night from J61 A688 Tursdale Road, Bowburn, to J60 A689, Bradbury, from 8:30pm on the 10th to 6am on 11th April.
  • The A1018 Commercial Road in Sunderland will be closed due to roadworks from Robinson Terrace to Jack Crawford House Roundabout until 24th April.
  • There will be temporary traffic lights due to roadworks on the A177 Station Road in Coxhoe around Front Street between 10:09 and 15:30 Mondays to Fridays until 15:30 on 14th April.
  • There will be temporary traffic lights due to telecoms work on the A186 West Road near Slatyford Lane in Denton until 22nd April.
