All the new businesses Edinburgh nightclubs have turned into during lockdown

Although we may be able to go for a pint indoors these days, many of us are still missing the buzz of going 'out out' to one of Edinburgh's many nightclubs.

Nightclubs in Scotland are not allowed to open even in Level 0 of lockdown so the city's discotheques have had to adapt and find new ways to operate under the restrictions.

And although dance floors across Edinburgh are off-limits to those looking for a boogie, it hasn't stopped venues from getting creative.

As a result, many of your favourite nightclubs now look seriously different - here's what some of our favourites are up to.

Sneaky Pete's

Sneaky Pete's reopened as a bar selling Civerino's pizza (Sneaky Pete's)

Sneaky Pete's on the Cowgate have shared the news that they will be once again operating as a bar which serves pizza from Civerinos while nightclubs are forced to remain shut for the foreseeable future.

You can visit the Sneaky Pete's website to book your booth here.

ATIK

ATIK - or Cav to older readers - in Tollcross announced on their social media platforms that they would be filling their dancefloor with punters once more, but not in the normal manner.

Instead drinkers can sit indoors at tables across the popular student-friend ly nightclub's main room every Friday and Saturday night between 5.30pm and 10pm in its new pub format.

You can book tickets for ATIK's pub in a club here.

Bourbon

Bourbon on Frederick Street have been open as a late night ba r offering table service but they're also offering food in collaboration with a popular Edinburgh takeaway.

Since launching last month, Ozen Street Food on Rose Street has taken the capital by storm (and has even impressed Gordon Ramsay along the way) and will now be taking up a weekend residency every week at the city centre nightclub.

Book your table here.

The Hive

The Hive couldn't look more different these days (Facebook)

The infamous experience of a night out (wow, remember nights out?) at the Hive changed completely during lockdown after the Edinburgh nightclub turned their two legendary dance floors into bar spaces where punters can have a sit down drink.

The dance-floors where we once sweated ourselves senseless during freshers are now home to several tables separated by Covid health-and-safety-friendly plastic partitions.

Hive is now open seven nights a week and have tables for 'two, four and six guests'.

You can book a table at the transformed 'Hive Bar' here.

The Liquid Rooms

The Liquid Rooms have reopened with an outdoor covered beer garden (Facebook)

The Victoria Street nightclub is now open til 1am seven days a week due to a licensing loop-hole, but dancing is still very much off the cards.

Come sun or rain their outdoor heated garden always has a couple of tables set for walk ins - but to book a table, visit their website here.

Subway

Subway created both an indoor and outdoor space during the pandemic to comply with restrictions. (Subway Social)

The Cowgate nightclub has also reopened with an outdoor seating space and are even showing Love Island on their screens every night.

Due to the same licensing loop hole that other Edinburgh bars have taken advantage of, the outdoor space is open until 3am every night - tables can be booked here.
