All the Merseyside schools we know are closing today

Schools across Merseyside are set to fully or partly shut on Wednesday due to a major strike by teachers.

The National Education Union is holding a national round of walk-outs in a row with the government over pay and conditions. Many primary and secondary schools across our region will be impacted by the strike action with either full or partial closures.

Many schools are undergoing partial closures in a bid to stay open for certain year groups. Staff are not compelled to tell headteachers whether or not they intend to strike. This means that many schools are still finalising decisions.

Most schools are offering provision for vulnerable children and children of key workers. Parents are advised to speak to their child's school directly if they feel they are eligible.

Ahead of the walk-outs taking place, we have done our best to collate a list of the schools we know across Merseyside that will either fully close, partially close or remain fully open during the strike action in a bid to help parents and carers plan.

This is not an exhaustive list as not all schools have informed us of their plans. If you know of a school that is planning to close that is not on this list please email liam.thorp@reachplc.com. We will be updating this list with more information as we get it.
