All the major stores that are closed on Boxing Day (and the reduced hours of the ones that are open)

Well, that's Christmas done for another year.

But, fear not, there's still plenty of chance to spend your money before 2020 kicks in.

Take Boxing Day, for example - a time when the lure of the seasonal sales sees the shops crammed with consumers.

Before you venture out though, it's worth knowing what shops will be closed, as well as the business hours of those which will be opening their doors.

These stores will be closed:

John Lewis

The department store is closed on Boxing Day every year.

It'll reopen at 9am on Friday December 27.

Bosses at the budget retailer keep its stores closed on Boxing Day in order to extend the period of festive cheer to staff.

Waitrose

Waitrose soup is being recalled (Hertfordshire Mercury)

The supermarket will be closed on December 26.

Larger stores will be open again on Thursday, December 27, but customers are advised to check here for information regarding their local branch.

Aldi

Chances are you won't be able to refill your cupboards on the cheap this Boxing Day as Aldi will be closed.

The supermarket will open again as usual from 8am – 8pm on Friday December 27.

And just like Aldi, Lidl will also be closed on December 26, so you'll have to wait until Friday to stock up on their cut-price prosecco for New Year's Eve.

The big-name retailer stores in Wales won't be opening on Boxing Day.

Boots

The pharmacy and retailer's bigger stores will be open on Boxing Day from 7am to 7pm. The hours of smaller branches and those located inside shopping centres might differ, however.

Sainsbury's

Sainsbury's will open on Boxing Day, but store time differ from location to location, wit some open from 7am-10pm and others only trading between 9am and 6pm.

Branches of Sainsbury's Local will be open from 9am to 9pm.

Iceland will have reduced hours on Boxing Day, with most outlets opening from 8am to 6pm.
