Reading and Leeds, Wireless and Creamfields are among the festivals planning to go ahead this summer.
Under the government’s plans to ease lockdown restrictions, which were announced on Monday (22 February), legal limits on social contact will be lifted in England from 21 June at the earliest.
If this timeline remains intact, festivals could go ahead this summer, providing that the vaccine programme is reducing hospital admissions and infection rates stay down.
While they are by no means certain to happen, a number of festivals have announced their plans to go ahead in 2021.
Green Man Festival, which is scheduled to take place in the Brecon Beacons from 19 to 22 August, have also said they’re hoping to go ahead in line with the Welsh government’s path out of lockdown.

However, Download Festival, which was due to take place between the 4 and 6 June, has been cancelled, along with electronic music festival Gottwood.
