All the Death in Paradise stars back for spin off as fans says goodbye to hit show

Fans of Beyond Paradise have another series to look forward to but many won't want to wait after Good Friday's emotional climax.

The Death in Paradise spin-off, which reintroduced Kris Marshall’s DI Humphrey Goodman, was a huge hit with viewers and critics and the good news is there's more on the way.

In recent episodes, viewers watched on as Humphrey and fiancee Martha’s (Sally Bretton) relationship broke down.

Episode five ended with the couple seemingly parting ways after both failed to come to an agreement on whether they wanted children.

But a shocking turn of events saw Humphrey return to the sunny island of Saint Marie in a bid to clear his head. Here, he was given some wise words of advice from an old friend and viewers loved it.

If you haven't seen it yet and loved the original you will want to know just which Death in Paradise cast members were handed cameos in Beyond Paradise’s final episode.

WalesOnline offer a run through of exactly who returned to our screens.

Don Warrington as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson

Commisioner Selwyn Patterson is a popular character (BBC / Red Planet / Denis Guyenon)

Humphrey’s help in times of need came in the shape of Commissioner Selwyn Patterson. In the final, Humph and his old boss had a heart to heart outside the beach hut.

This wouldn’t be the first time that Beyond Paradise viewers have heard the name ‘Selwyn’ this year. Earlier in the series, Humphrey and Martha decided to name their boat-home’s resident duck after the Commissioner.

Don Warrington has played the character since Death in Paradise’s first episode in 2011. The character oversees the running of the police department on Saint Marie.

Aside from Death in Paradise, Don has also been in the likes of Rising Damp, The Crouches and Doctor Who.

Ralf Little as DI Neville Parker

Viewers were thrilled when they finally got to see Humphrey and Neville meet for the first time. Ralf Little has played Neville since 2020 and will return to Death in Paradise next year

Life has been tough for Neville, who recently discovered that his girlfriend Sophie had been lying to him from the start. The latest series ended with him choosing to stay on Saint Marie with his friends.

Before joining Death in Paradise, Ralf was best known for his roles in sitcoms The Royle Family and Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps. He also recently presented a six-part travel series titled Ricky & Ralf's Very Northern Road Trip with his Royle Family co-star Ricky Tomlinson.

Tahj Miles as Marlon Pryce

We've be seeing more of them in the months ahead (BBC / Red Planet Pictures / Denis Guyenon)

Humphrey introduced fiance Martha to the Saint Marie gang and Marlon could be seen enjoying a few drinks at Catherine’s Bar. The character was first seen on Death in Paradise as a petty criminal who spent his days scamming tourists, but is now a trainee officer with the local police.

Actor Tahj Miles has limited credits on his acting CV. He has previously appeared as part of the main cast on the CBBC series Class Dismissed, and also had a role in Steve McQueen's Mangrove – part of the Small Axe series of films on BBC One.

Shantol Jackson as DS Naomi Thomas

There will be another Christmas special coming in December (BBC / Red Planet Pictures / Denis Guyenon)

Also making a cameo at Catherine’s Bar was Shantol Jackson, who plays DS Naomi Thomas. She joined Neville and Marlon in having a drink.

Although Death in Paradise is Shantol’s first major role, the actress has previously appeared in a small role in Idris Elba's film Yardie and a main part in 2018 sports movie Sprinter.

Élizabeth Bourgine as Catherine Bordey

Speaking of Catherine, she also makes a small cameo in Beyond Paradise’s final episode. Élizabeth Bourgine returned to play the character, who is also the mayor of Saint Marie.

Much like Don Warrington, Élizabeth has been on Death in Paradise since its first episode. The actress has previously appeared in several shows and movies in her home country of France, including Private Lessons, A Heart in Winter, and My Best Friend.

All episodes of Beyond Paradise are now available to watch on BBC iPlayer
