All the changes to Newport bus services from Monday as more students return to school

A number of changes to bus services in Newport have been announced.

The changes will come into effect from Monday and will mean alterations to a number of services to secondary schools around the city.

Some younger children have already returned to school in Wales but this is set to increase hugely from next week, when all primary aged children and children in secondary school sitting examinations will be back in classrooms. Read Wales' full plan to bring children back to school here.

Newport Bus has announced the following changes from Monday March 15:

B1 - Bassaleg School via Mount Pleasant (Monday-Friday only)

Rolls Walk 7.45am, St John's Crescent 7.55am, Bassaleg School 8.10am

Bassaleg School 3.15pm, St John's Crescent 3.25pm, Ruskin Avenue 15.35pm

B1 - Bassaleg School via Foxgloves (Monday-Friday only)

Primrose Way (Rivermead Way) 7.50am, St John's Crescent 8am, Bassaleg School 8.15am

Bassaleg School 3.15pm, St John's Crescent 3.25pm, Primrose Way (Rivermead Way) 3.35pm

JF2 - Pillgwenlly - John Frost High School via Cardiff Road (Monday-Friday only)

Newport Bus Station 7.47am, St Stephen's Church 7.57am, Shops 8.12am, John Frost High School 8.20am

John Frost High School 3.30pm, Ebbw Bridge Club 3.38pm, St Stephen's Church 3.53pm, Newport Bus Station

Services with school day variations will also return to the X74 for Chepstow School, 74A/74C for Llanwern High and 29 for Caerleon Comprehensive School students.

"From Monday March 15, all services operating to Newport secondary schools will operate with one vehicle operating every route. This means changes to the B1/B2 Bassaleg and JF2 John Frost timetables," Newport Bus said.

"Services with school day variations will return to the X74 for Chepstow School, 74A/74C for Llanwern High and 29 for Caerleon Comprehensive School students.

"Once we have confirmation, we will be looking to ramp up service to pre-lockdown levels from April 11."
