All the changes made to the government's foreign travel lists

Seven destinations will move to the green list following a review of the government's international travel lists, the Department for Transport has announced.

Canada, Denmark, Finland, Lithuania, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and the Azores will move to the green list from 4am on Monday.

While Montenegro and Thailand are to join the red list, also from August 30.

No countries have been moved from the green or red to the amber list following a review of the latest coronavirus evidence on Thursday.

The update means holidaymakers arriving to England from the seven locations added to the green list will no longer need to self-isolate on their return.

A series of Covid-19 tests must be taken though - including a test three days before travel to England, as well as a test after you arrive in England on or before day two.

A statement from the Department for Transport said the update was due to the locations posing a low risk to UK public health.

Meanwhile, travellers arriving into the country from Montenegro and Thailand from next week will have to quarantine for 10 days in a government-approved hotel.

Brits arriving from a red country must also take a Covid test three days before travel to England, on or before day two after arriving, as well as on or after day eight of quarantining.

"The high rates combined with lower levels of published genomic surveillance in Thailand and Montenegro than other countries mean that an outbreak of a new variant or existing variants of concern (VOC) or variants under investigation (VUI) cannot be easily identified before it is imported and seeded across the UK," the Department for Transport said.

Passengers are encouraged to check all requirements and FCDO travel advice before they book any foreign travel.

Some destinations have placed restrictions on UK travellers, including quarantine measures once tourists arrive at their destination.
