All the Cardiff Bus service changes for Bank Holiday Monday

Cardiff Bus has announced changes to its services for Bank Holiday Monday. Sunday timetables will be followed on August 29 and the operator's customer service operation will be closed.

The changes come just before Cardiff Bus's temporary summer timetables are set to end on Saturday, September 3. The more typical service frequency seen before the school summer holidays will be restored, with many routes also set to see new timetables and many journeys retimed to better reflect the level of congestion.

The operator has encouraged customers to make the most of the summer its summer services before the new academic year begins. August 29 to September 4 will be the last week during which customers can take advantage of extra baycar journeys to and from Cardiff Bay. The service runs between the city centre and Cardiff Bay every 15 minutes during the day, seven days a week.

It will also be the last full week that the open top bus service (the 99 service from Cardiff to Penarth Pier) will run, and the last full week customers can purchase the reduced family ticket rate before it is reserved for weekends only.

Gareth Stevens, Commercial Director at Cardiff Bus said, “As summer comes to an end, we’d like to remind our customers of the fantastic services they can enjoy before the start of the new academic year. Many have enjoyed our seasonal services such as additional baycar journeys and the open top bus and we encourage the local community and those visiting the city to take one last ride before our holiday timetables come to an end.

“As always we’d like to thank our drivers for keeping Cardiff moving during the summer holidays which has no doubt raised the profile of the wonderful tourist spots right here on our doorstep.” All details of the timetable and route changes are available at cardiffbus.com and via its app.
