The Wales Rally GB held its Grand Depart in Liverpool this afternoon, with 60 cars departing the city towards Oulton Park in Cheshire.
The event drew hundreds to Pier Head today, where visitors were able to see the cars taking part, get autographs from drivers and watch as they departed on big screens.
The ceremonial start took place outside of Wales today for the first time since 1999, with cars worth a quarter of a million pounds being flagged away for Britain’s round of the FIA World Rally Championship .
Rally fans descended on Liverpool’s iconic waterfront to catch a glimpse of the popular cars and their favourite drivers, including Welsh favourite Elfyn Evans, reigning world champion Sébastien Ogier and Finland’s Jari-Matti Latvala.
