'All the best in the future' - Chelsea defender on loan at Bristol City bids farewell to fans

Jay Dasilva appears to have bid a fond farewell to Bristol City.

The Robins' season has come to an end after they narrowly missed out on the Championship play-offs on Sunday.

Dasilva, 21, spent the season at Ashton Gate on loan from Chelsea and impressed, becoming a firm fans' favourite over the course of his 32 appearances for the club.

The Robins do have an option to buy him now that his loan has ended but, on Instagram, the talented left-back wished the club well the for the future.

He said: "Thank you to the fans for your support all season. Wish all the best to the lads and the club in the future."

Dasilva was one of three Chelsea players on loan at the Robins this season along with Tomas Kalas and Kasey Palmer.

Palmer responded to the post with a number of eye emojis, leading some fans to speculate it means Dasilva is staying at Ashton Gate.

Manager Lee Johnson confirmed after Sunday's draw with Hull City that he wishes to keep all three if he can.

He said: "I would like to keep all three players. I think Tomas Kalas has been fantastic. I've really enjoyed working with him and he has taken us to another level in terms of his quality.

Chelsea defender to seek permanent transfer this summer after successful Bristol City loan move - reports

"And Jay Dasilva is a real bright prospect and obviously a small player. Not everybody will take a 5ft4' left-back, but seeing as his manager is the same size that helps him feel better about himself!

"Then it comes to Kasey Palmer, but listen his quality is there for all to see: but it must be caveated that he needs a full pre-season under me.

"I don't think he's been fit enough throughout this second half of the season."
