UPDATE: A new three-tier system for England was announced for December 2020 as the country comes out of full national lockdown - see full details here
Nottinghamshire has now entered Tier 3, joining Warrington, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, South Yorkshire and Liverpool.
West Yorkshire will join them on Monday November 2 and it has been announced that Birmingham and the West Midlands is set to go into 'Tier 3: Very High' next week.
Bristol has opted for Tier 1 plus amid rising cases. The Tier 1 plus concept is a local one - not a national one - which has been discussed by local authorities throughout the South West, but Bristol is the first to try it
Greater Manchester went into the "Very High" Tier 3 Level on Friday, October 23. The move came despite the Government failing to reach an agreement with Greater Manchester over business support measures.
Meanwhile, people in the county of Staffordshire, Oxford and parts of West and East Midlands, Yorkshire and Humber will join millions of people in areas including London, facing more stringent lockdown restrictions in Tier 2 - 'High' level classification when the rules come into effect there at 12.01am Saturday.
Stoke-on-Trent and Coventry went into 'Tier 2' as Covid cases continue to rise in both cities. The measures came into effect from 12.01am on Saturday, October 24.
Slough has also been added to the 'Tier 2' areas with effect from 12.01am Saturday, October 24.
