Beyond the standard Sprites, Fortnite also features special rarity variants that can spawn in the wild. These versions are much rarer than their normal counterparts and come with unique bonuses, making them highly sought after if you’re looking to maximize your rewards.

  • Gold Sprites: Gold variants grant bonus XP whenever you eliminate an enemy player while they’re active, helping you level up faster.
  • Gummy Sprites: Extracting a Gummy Sprite rewards you with 10 percent more Sprite Dust, making them the best choice if you’re farming the resource.
  • Galaxy Sprites: This unreleased variant is expected to increase the amount of ammunition you find while looting by 20 percent, giving you an edge in longer matches once it becomes available.

How to extract Sprites in Fortnite

There are multiple ways to extract a Sprite in Fortnite, but the simplest method is to visit one of the 17 Extraction sites scattered across the map. Once you arrive, interact with the extraction point and press the extraction button to begin the process.

The extraction takes a few seconds to complete and sends out an alert to nearby players, often turning the area into a hotspot for combat. You’ll need to defend the site while the timer counts down and protect your collected Sprites from enemy teams looking to interrupt the process.

Another way to extract a Sprite is by using a Sprite Extractor. This device lets you instantly begin extracting a Sprite directly from your inventory, completing the process in just five seconds without alerting nearby enemies. It’s a much safer option than using a public Extraction site, especially if you’re carrying rare Sprites. Still, the convenience comes at a cost, as Sprite Extractors are expensive to purchase, but you can earn them from quests.

Once you successfully extract a Sprite, you’ll earn Sprite Dust, a resource used to summon it again if you lose one of your prized companions during a match. Extracting and using Sprites also contributes to their progression, allowing them to level up over time. As a Sprite gains levels, its abilities become stronger, making it even more valuable in future games.

What’s the rarest Sprite in Fortnite?

While Epic Games has not published official spawn rates for Sprite variants, the Gummy Zero Point Sprite is widely considered the rarest one currently in the game. At the time of writing, only one player is known to have discovered it, making it an incredibly elusive find for collectors.

However, that could soon change. Galaxy Sprites are expected to arrive in a future update next week, and if their spawn rates are as low as anticipated, they may become the rarest Sprite variant in Fortnite. Until then, the Gummy Zero Point Sprite holds the crown as the hardest Sprite to obtain.

As more data becomes available, the exact rarity may change, but rare variant Sprites remain some of the hardest collectibles to obtain in Fortnite.

What’s the best Sprite in Fortnite?

The best Sprite in Fortnite depends on your playstyle, but Fire Sprite is the strongest all-around choice for most players. It’s one of the easiest Sprites to level up, comes free for everyone, and is abundantly available across the island. Its fiery burst ability deals extra damage after you’ve hit an enemy enough times, making it much easier to finish off opponents and win fights. The combination of accessibility and consistent offensive power makes Fire Sprite the best investment for nearly every match.

For aggressive players, Demon Sprite is a close second. Its passive restores health and shields whenever you eliminate an opponent, allowing you to chain gunfights without stopping to heal. This becomes especially valuable in the late game, where surviving after a fight can give you the edge needed to secure a Victory Royale.

Another standout is King Sprite, especially after its recent buffs. At max level, it significantly increases your Pickaxe damage, letting you destroy builds far more quickly and making material farming much faster. The bonus can also catch enemies off guard in close quarters, giving the Sprite surprising combat value beyond just harvesting.

If you’re focused on loot, Dream Sprite is also worth considering. It grants random items as it levels up and eventually explodes with Legendary loot at max level, offering excellent rewards for players willing to invest the time.

Overall, if you can only choose one Sprite to level first, Fire Sprite is the best option thanks to its powerful damage bonus, simple progression, and widespread availability.
