All six Stonehaven crash survivors now discharged from hospital

All patients have been discharged from hospital after the Stonehaven rail crash tragedy.

It comes exactly one week after a train derailed killing driver, Brett McCullough 45, conductor Donald Dinnie 58, and passenger, Chris Stuchbury, 62.

Now the six survivors who were rushed to hospital with injuries have been released.

The horror crash on Wednesday happened after a train travelling from Aberdeen to Glasgow came off the rails sparking a huge emergency response.

The area had been hit with heavy rain and it is suspected a landslip or flooding damage could have caused the train to come off the tracks.

The train had been turning back after coming across an initial landslip when the tragedy struck.

Devastated ScotRail workers fell silent this morning in memory of the three men who lost their lives in the tragedy.

Railway workers who's 'hearts remain broken' across the country held a one minute vigil at 9.43am this morning.

Last week hero off-duty train worker Nicola Whyte, 31, who was on the train, bravely walked around three miles from the wreckage to raise the alarm at a signal box at 09.43am.

A major double investigation is now being carried out 'to establish the full circumstances'.

The NHS Grampian tweeted: "All patients have now been discharged from hospital following last week's major incident."
