All signs point toward ‘Justin Lewis bandwagon’ for Bulls fans

For the Chicago Bulls, the primary goal heading into this summer is to make the playoffs next season. After getting bounced in the play-in tournament, they set their sights on improvement rather than a teardown. However, they should still be keeping an eye on their youngsters in an attempt to develop up-and-coming talent.

The summer league will provide the perfect opportunity for that: Dalen Terry and rookie Julian Phillips are set to earn major opportunities. However, another guy to keep an eye on is Justin Lewis, who played well in summer league last summer but tore his ACL before getting a chance to play in the regular season.

Elias Schuster of Bleacher Nation expressed his excitement for Lewis in a recent article.

“In all seriousness, I’m not going to be shocked if I walk away from summer league sitting first class on the Justin Lewis bandwagon,” Schuster wrote. “I’ve already been riding in coach since his second season at Marquette, so it might not take much to push me up a handful of rows. He flashed some real positive signs before tearing his ACL during last year’s Summer League showcase, and the Chicago Bulls’ latest clip from Summer League practice might suggest he’s ready to do that again.”

The 21-year-old is 6-foot-7 and can play either forward position. With him, Terry, Phillips and Patrick Williams all on the roster, the Bulls are loaded with young talent at the forward position, and fans should keep an eye on the former three throughout summer league.
