Sierra’s abilities and Ultimate in Overwatch

Sierra is a fast, information-heavy hero who thrives on pressure and follow-up damage. Her kit combines a steady automatic weapon with tracking tools, a mobility setup, and an ultimate that launches a drone carrying explosives.
| Ability Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Tracking Shot | Tracking Shot marks an enemy, and Helix Rifle shots automatically track marked enemies Once an enemy is marked, your shots become much easier to land |
| Anchor Drone | Anchor Drone lets Sierra launch a drone, then reactivate the ability to fly toward it, giving her a built-in repositioning tool to chase, escape, or quickly take high ground |
| Tremor Charge | Tremor Charge is a thrown explosive that creates a shockwave on impact. This gives Sierra area control and a way to threaten grouped enemies |
| Trailblazer (Ultimate) | Sierra’s ultimate is Trailblazer, which deploys a drone that flies forward and drops explosives The drone keeps moving, creates space denial, and forces enemies to react instead of freely taking fights |
Sierra’s weapon in Overwatch
Sierra uses Helix Rifle, which is an automatic assault weapon that fires in a spiral pattern, and sustained fire improves its accuracy. You want to stay on target and keep firing when you have a clean angle, because the weapon becomes more reliable the longer you commit to the shot.
That makes it strong for mid-range fights, especially when you are tracking a moving target or following up on enemies already pressured by your team.

Sierra’s Passive, Perks, and Upgrades
Sierra’s passive gives her the Subrole of a Recon, and damaging enemies below half health reveals them. That passive is very strong for cleanup and target tracking, and once an enemy drops low, Sierra can keep tabs on them even if they try to break line of sight or retreat behind cover.
It also fits the rest of her kit perfectly. Since Sierra is already built around marking, chasing, and confirming kills, Recon makes sure weakened enemies stay under pressure long enough to be finished. Sierra’s perk path adds more mobility, more drone value, and stronger tracking pressure
- Full Flight (Minor perk 1) – Increase Anchor Drone flight and grapple ranges by 25%
- Tight Grip (Minor perk 2) – Helix Rifle’s bullet speed tightens 100% faster and widens 30% slower
- Medi-Drone (Major perk 1) – Anchor Drones hold a small health pack that can heal Sierra
- Locked In (Major perk 2) – Firing Tracking Shot increases your attack speed by 20% for 2 seconds
How to play Sierra in Overwatch
Once Sierra becomes playable, she’d be best when you play around picks, angles, and follow-up damage. Open fights by marking a target, use the Helix Rifle to pressure them, and use Tremor Charge or Trailblazer when enemies group up or try to hold ground.
Anchor Drone should help you stay unpredictable. Use it to rotate, escape bad positions, or set up a better angle before using Tracking Shot or your ultimate.
The biggest mistake would be playing too passively. Sierra’s kit rewards constant pressure, and her value goes up when you are actively forcing enemies to move, reveal themselves, or stay in range.
Sierra looks like a recon-damage hybrid with strong chase potential and good fight control. She is built to find targets, keep them visible, and punish them before they can reset.
