All Saints on Buchanan Street and Royal Exchange Square building up for lease

A major building on Glasgow's Buchanan Street, which backs onto Royal Exchange Square, is advertising for new tenants.

The building currently houses All Saints and Zizzi's Italian restaurant on 98 Buchanan Street and 31 Royal Exchange Square.

The Zizzi website does not list the restaurant as one that will be reopening on April 26.

The upstairs floors of the building are also being advertised for lease.

Pricing is available upon request for those potentially interested in leasing the building, which is one of the most historic in Glasgow's city centre.

The building was originally designed by Archibald Elliot in 1827 for the Royal Bank - and some of the original features like cornicing and ceiling roses are still evident in Zizzi's.

There are also some nods to the days as a former bank.

The building also has a place in modern culture, being home to Borders bookshop between 1998 and 2009.

The store closed on December 22, 2009 alongside 44 other stores across the UK.
