Like any open-world adventure RPG, Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon offers optional romance. While it’s not as deep as similar titles such as Baldur’s Gate 3, developer Questline has still implemented a couple of characters you can romance in the game for further immersion.
Here’s everything you need to know about the romance options in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.
How to romance Alisa and Morgen in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon

There are currently only two characters you can romance in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.
Alisa, whom you’ll be introduced to as “the rich lady,” is the main romanceable character you meet. Her romance is a slow-burn and comes with a complete storyline, making her the only real romanceable character in the game. She can be found in Act One’s village tavern and will ask for your help if you interact with her. She’ll mention that there’s a manor nearby overrun with bandits. Clear out the bandits and return to her not only to complete the mission, but to kickstart the romance. Ensure that your dialogue responses are flirtatious to solidify the romantic storyline.
From there, you’ll have to complete a couple more Alisa-specific quests she’ll give you. Complete these by collecting the materials you need to fulfil the objectives, turn down any of the rewards she’ll offer you as thanks, and she’ll eventually ask you on a date. Make sure you do the following to ensure that you’re on the right path to romance:
- Lie about the fate of her husband after finding him in a cave.
- Encourage her to stay in town and become a merchant.
- Repair the pier.
Answer her questions seriously, and you’ll eventually unlock the achievement “Yours Forever,” where you’ll move in with her.
The only other character in the game that’s considered somewhat romanceable is Morgen, a mermaid. You’ll meet her at the end of the “Deep Calleth Upon Deep” quest. Once you finish this quest, a flirtatious dialogue option will appear. There will be a string of these in succession, and selecting these options will result in a dead end because Morgen will pull you down and drown you.
This option is not worth pursuing for any reason, as it results in an immediate game over, and it has no achievement or trophy to chase. The only legitimate romance in the game is Alisa.
