All Potion Recipes & Combinations in Dead Rails

In the version update 0.14.0, the developers have added a liquid system in the game that allows users to mix different liquids to produce potions. Players can then consume these potions to get various buffs/perks that can aid them in their journey. So, if you are wondering how these liquids are obtained or how to mix them to make potions, don't worry! I have the perfect guide to enlisting all the potion combinations in Dead Rails, along with their obtainment method.

What are the various Potions in Dead Rails?

As of now, there are four potions in Dead Rails, and I have mentioned each one along with the buffs they provide.

Angel Tears

  • Recipe: Unicorn Blood + Blood
  • Effect: Upon consuming the Angel Tears, you will immediately recover from all injuries and restore your health.

Devil Tears

  • Recipe: Unicorn Blood + Kerosene
  • Effect: Upon igniting it, it will start as a small puddle and quickly spread throughout the area, burning everything. This is much quicker than a normal Molotov or Holy Water.

Holy Water

  • Recipe: Unicorn Blood + Water
  • Effect: Throw this Holy Water on any enemy to engulf them in a green flame and kill them quickly. Also, players are immune to this green flame.

Primordial Soup

  • Recipe: Unicorn Blood + Milk
  • Effect: Corpses soaked in Primordial Soup will revive as zombies and fight on your behalf against the enemy as an ally.

How to get Liquids in Dead Rails

In order to get the above potions, you need the liquids as raw materials. Below, you can find all the X types of liquids in Dead Rails and the method to procure them.

  • Water Liquid: Obtained during rainy weather
  • Milk Liquid: Obtained by looting the houses in the Urban Town Areas or by starting as the Milkman Class.
  • Unicorn Blood Liquid: It is obtained by striking any liquid puddle with lightning or draining the blood of a dead unicorn.
  • Zombie Blood Liquid: Obtained by killing a zombie and draining its blood.
  • Kerosene Blood Liquid: You can drain a Molotov to get the Kerosene inside it.
  • Normal Blood: Killing any other non-zombie NPCs and draining their blood.

How to Collect Liquids in Dead Rails

To collect the above liquids during draining or any other specific event, you require an item called a Glass Bottle. This is a newly added item that allows you to store liquids in the game. You can find this item all around the map in random locations, either as empty Glass Bottles or with some form of liquid in them. Just gather these bottles in your sack, and you can use them at any point in the game.

Once you have the empty glass bottles, you can go near any puddles of liquid like Unicorn Blood, Normal Blood, or Rain and press the LMB to store the liquid. If you want to pour the liquid, press F to release all the liquid onto the ground as puddles!

How to make Potions in Dead Rails

To make potions in Dead Rails, you have to release the liquids according to the associated recipes on the ground as puddles using the F button. After a while, the puddles will mix to form the potion, which can be stored inside another empty Glass Bottle for use later.

How to Use Potions in Dead Rails

To use a Potion in Dead Rails, you have to pour the contents from bottles on the ground to form puddles. Then you can stand on these puddles to get the effects. Yes, there is no mechanism to consume or drink it directly. Depending on how long you have stood in the puddle, you will receive the buffs and benefits from it.
