All Points East announce 10 days of online gigs and more

If not for Covid, All Points East festival would have fired up this weekend for its first three days of music, and while that’s now out of the question, organisers are now taking things online.

The festival has launched an online hub, found here, which will fill up with a mix of exclusive virtual gigs, archive shows, question-and-answer sessions with artists, and more.

Things begin this evening, with a show from Jehnny Beth, which is being streamed from her home in France. Organisers will also release Anna Calvi’s 2018 show, and will screen White Riot, the story of Rock Against Racism. Shows from Kraftwerk, Johnny Marr, Neneh Cherry, John Grant and more are in the pipeline.

In a statement, organisers said: “Today would have marked the start of All Points East 2020 and in celebration of our talented, vibrant, diverse and extraordinary artists and collaborators we will be showcasing the hidden corners of our festival over the next 10 days.

“Please come together and enjoy a treasure trove of experiences. We will be sharing it all on this page so keep checking for new content. Each day starting from today. Love to all x

Besides the music, the online hub will offer performances from the Half Moon Theatre, virtual football at home, yoga sessions, museum workshops and cocktail and cookery classes.

All Points East is set to return to Victoria Park in 2021.
