Optical Disks are optional collectibles in Grounded 2, but these are entirely worth the effort, provided you obtain all the other rewards while getting them.
Specific Optical Disks also unlock crafting recipes, which come in handy to craft items for the later stages. Like the previous game, these disks are not easy to collect, and you will have to engage in boss fights before obtaining them.
In some cases, you will also need to take precautions as certain areas can be more challenging to reach than others. Here’s everything you need to know about all Optical Disk locations in Grounded 2.
How many Optical Disks are there to collect in Grounded 2?
There are six Optical Disks of two types (three each under one type) to collect in Grounded 2. Three of them are located in the southwestern section of the map, and one each in the northwestern, eastern, and southern parts.

TURBO Optical Disk locations in Grounded 2
Snackbar Optical Disk location
This Optical Disk is located inside the Snackbar Anthill, right beside the ranger station back entrance. Follow the pathway, and you will end up in a place with a buried treasure chest behind the two pebbles and a corpse beside it.
Defeat the Red Soldier Ant, dig the chest using an Omni-Shovel, and then open it to get the disk. After getting it, the Snackbar Optical Disk Science Shop unlocks:
- Hatchery – 500 Raw Science
- Sign Set: Buggy – 3,000 Raw Science
Stolen TURBO Optical Disk location
The Stolen Turbo Optical Disk is found while investigating Sloane’s coordinates during The Art of War quest. It’s located inside a small cave behind a Dead Root on top of a small cabinet on its side, which you can access from the Tunnel Entrance.

Network Center Optical Disk location
This Optical Disk is found inside the Network Center Penthouse Office, on the desk to the right of BURG.L’s head, behind the door on Level 05. You have to defeat the Bandit to gain access to this room, and once you get the disk, the science shop unlocks:

Ice Cream Cart Optical Disk location
This Optical Disk is located inside the Ice Cream Cart, which is difficult to reach, and you must have improved Chill resistance before coming here. You need to head right into the room full of ice cream, and you will find Employee 331 leaning against an ice cream mound with a mask on.
The Optical Disk will be located right between the legs of the Employee. You will also find two Everchar Flares, Scorpidote, and Spicy Shard from him. Apart from that, the Ice Cream Cart Optical Disk Science Shop unlocks:

To get the Optical Disk B, you have to head inside the Spider Den Anthill’s North Entrance. The den of the arachnos is filled with webs, Orb Weavers, and Spiderlings. Right before the webbed Queen Ant, you will find the body of Employee 210, and the disk will be lying right beside him.

This is the Optical Disk A located in the large chamber with the Cockroach Queen guarding inside. Find the South Entrance and the cave beside the spray can; that’s your cue to enter. The Cockroach Queen is the boss you’ll face, and there are two rounds of the fight.
Yes, she will revive after dying, so you have to cook and be equipped with the right armor and weapons. You will find the Optical Disk on the ground next to Park Employee 119. The Toxic Hill Optical Disk Science Shop unlocks:
