All of the Edinburgh beer gardens open past 10pm on Saturday as restrictions ease

This week, restrictions across Scotland eased for a number of sectors, with hospitality and retail finally able to reopen after months of lockdown.

Currently, the country is in level three, meaning that indoor hospitality can open until 8pm without the sale of alcohol, and outdoor premises can sell alcohol until 10pm.

However, earlier this week Edinburgh Live reported that a number of Edinburgh establishments were planning on staying open past this time due to some detail in the licensing agreement.

Wording in the government guidance has states that outdoor premises can stay open per local licensing laws.

This has meant that those with beer gardens set up on their own property could remain open until the time originally set out to them by Edinburgh Council, many of which is later than 10pm.

Some bars and restaurants have chosen to avoid staying open past the time set out by the Scottish Government, and have stated they may change this at a later date.

If you know of anywhere else open later you can let us know at news@edinburghlive.co.uk or on Facebook and twitter.

However, here are all the Edinburgh beer gardens that will be keeping their pints flowing past 10pm.

The iconic Edinburgh pub nestled into the university campus confirmed earlier this week that they would be trialling a later closing time.

Speaking to Edinburgh Live, owner Brian had stated that he had been in conversation with the council to ensure no licensing agreements were broken.

Therefore, the outdoor section of the pub will be open until 12am.

2. The Three Sisters

The famous watering hole has also stated that they will be keeping drinks flowing until 1am in their beer garden, which is known for being packed to the brim on rugby days and for other sporting events.

On April 28, they said: "Where there's a will there IS a way, this weekend our outdoor beer garden will be open until 1am, yes you read that correctly!

"No rules are being broken the local license states that we are permitted to open as per the local licensing law."

However, on Sunday (May 2), the pub will be closing at 10pm, with the late hours only in practice on Friday and Saturday.

3. Indigo Yard

With its own private garden situated at the front of their property, Indigo Yard, owned by the Montpelliers Group, will be aiming to stay open until 1am.

After trialling the move on Friday (April 30), the bar will be allowing drinkers to stay past 10pm, but will also be returning to a 10pm closing date on weekdays.

So far, it is the only premises in the Montpelliers Group to be staying open later.

4. House of Gods

The boutique hotel has been well-known over the last year for offering some pretty spectacular stays, with unlimited prosecco and night in hampers.

However, the site recently launched a new 'prosecco garden' which they have confirmed will stay open later than 10pm tonight (Saturday).
