All Marvel Rivals characters: Current roster and upcoming heroes

While the costumes might be a little pricey and the third-person perspective frustrating at times, one thing you can't criticise is the list of Marvel Rivals characters. Why did no one tell me about the adorable shark previously relegated to the comics? Taking Marvel characters most of us had never heard of before and thrusting them into the limelight has been one of its greatest strengths.

This roster is only getting bigger, too, with each new season bringing a handful of heroes (or villains). With almost 70 years of Marvel comic books to draw from, NetEase isn't running out of material anytime soon. Below, you'll find a list of all the characters currently available, the latest news on upcoming characters, and even a list of leaked heroes supposedly coming to Marvel Rivals in the future.

With big-game hunter Elsa Bloodstone blasting on the roster in Season 6.5, there are currently 47 characters in Marvel Rivals across its three roles: Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist. These range from the well-known Avengers, X-Men (mutants), and Fantastic Four heroes, all the way to an icy K-pop star and an adorable little landshark.

In the current roadmap, we're due a new character each and every month, at the launch of a new season and its mid-season update.

New Marvel Rivals characters

The newest character is Elsa Bloodstone, a Duelist hero added in the Season 6.5 update, making them the game's 47th hero. She follows on from Deadpool in Season 6, who, uniquely, can be played as all three roles.

• Difficulty: Three stars

Elsa Bloodstone is yet another DPS hero, though she's one of the most powerful yet. With a rifle and shotgun, and multiple stuns, she's a monster in the right hands. However, much like other form-switching characters, Elsa will take a second to wrap your head around.

Here are Elsa Bloodstone's abilities:

Monster-Piercer	Primary attack	Fire your elephant gun, piercing enemies and dealing high damage.
Helix Advance	Ability	Dash forward. Your next Double-Barrel Blaster attack becomes Monster-Piercer
Ruthless Pursuit	Ability	Dash forward, gaining bonus health and launching enemies hit. Follow up with a Double-Barrel Blaster shot that propels you backwards and slows enemies. This also empowers your next shot, transforming it into Monster-Piercer
Living Bullet	Alternate fire	Fire a Living Bullet round that splits upon impact, seeking nearby enemies and marking each with a Spectral Sigil. Hitting marked targets with your primary attacks grants you a speed boost. Living Bullets deal extra damage to shields and enemies with bonus health
Apex Predator	Ultimate	Summon the Glartox to charge forward. The Glartrox can be recalled to charge back along the same path. When colliding with terrain or upon return, it bites fiercely, dealing heavy damage
Smoky Snare	Ability	Launch a trap containing the monster Diablo. Once deployed, it becomes invisible and invulnerable. When an enemy triggers it, Diablo immobilises and damages them. Use again to dash to the trapped enemy. Enemies can destroy Diablo to break free
Bloodstone's Boombox Bullets	Team-up ability with Deadpool	Elsa Bloodstone's Living Bullet changes to special rounds that taunt targets with Deadpool's chatter, while slowing and damaging nearby enemies over time. Elsa can recall the rounds to heal based on the damage dealt

• Role: Duelist, Strategist, or Vanguard
• Difficulty: Three stars

Deadpool is the single-most complicated and confusing Marvel Rivals character yet. Firstly, they can be played in any role, and must be banned individually in competitive play. Naturally, your abilities change depending on your role. However, Deadpool's abilities also change based on your currently equipped weapon, and you can upgrade your attacks mid-match. It's a lot, but Deadpool (especially as a tank) is a very powerful hero once you've learned how he works.

Here are Deadpool's abilities for all three roles:

Bunny Bounce	Ability	Double jump in the air. During The Big Test (ultimate), you can also bounce on enemies' heads to reset the cooldown

Maximum Flair	Passive	Earn style points when landing an ability on enemies, granting ultimate charge

With Deadpool and Elsa Bloodstone in Season 6, there are currently no confirmed upcoming characters, though there have been mentions of other heroes that aren't currently playable, like Professor X.

There has also been a long list of leaked characters supposedly coming to Marvel Rivals in the future. While some are suspected to be fakeouts, there are plenty that are obvious choices in the future. For example, Gambit, Rogue, Deadpool, Daredevil, Angela, and more were leaked long before launch and finally arrived in-game.

All Marvel Rivals team-up abilities in Season 6.5

Not only are each character incredibly unique and fun to play, but they also have team-up abilities that change how they play when used with specific allies. These are superheroes, after all; there are tons of different teams and alliances, and the team-up system is a great way to represent these links in gameplay.

Team-up abilities change each season, with new ones being added and existing ones being tweaked or retired thanks to an ever-expanding roster. Here's the state of team-ups in Season 6.5:

Mr Pool's Interdimensional Toy Box (Tweaked in Season 6.5)	Deadpool + Jeff the Land Shark/Elsa Bloodstone	Jeff gets a new ability that lets him spit out a toy that heals allies in an area. Elsa Bloodstone gets a new ability called Living Bullet that distracts enemies and can be recalled to heal herself based on the damage dealt.
Gamma Charge (Tweaked in Season 6.5)	Hulk + Black Panther/The Thing	The Hulk charges the specified characters with gamma radiation. Black Panther gains a shield when his health drops below 25%. The Thing gains an extended range and damage with Stone Haymaker and Rocky Jab, granting bonus health.
Fantastic Force (Retired in Season 6.5)	Invisible Woman + Human Torch/Mister Fantastic/The Thing	Invisible Woman powers up the Fantastic Four members, letting them activate a temporary shield for damage resistance and bonus health.
Arcane Order	Doctor Strange + Scarlet Witch	Scarlet Witch can tap into Doctor Strange's magic to turn Chthonian Burst into a rapid-fire, long-range projectile independent from her chaos energy meter.
Bestial Hunt	Daredevil + The Punisher	Daredevil shares the location of his Sonic Pursuit with The Punisher. Plus, The Punisher can launch a devil-infused grenade to damage and blind enemies.
Blade of Khonshu	Moon Knight + Blade	Blade gets a new ability that allows him to dash forward and unleash rapid slashes that bounce projectiles between enemies.
Chilling Assault (Tweaked in Season 5.5)	Luna Snow + Emma Frost/Iron Fist	Iron Fist shares his healing effect and bonus with nearby allies. Emma Froster can create a wall of ice to block areas, while granting her basic attack a chilling, slowing effect.
Deep Wrath	Hela + Namor	Namor gets the ability to create a damaging pillar of water, while also passively spawning a monstro turret on the corpse of enemies killed by him or Hela.
Divine Armory	Angela + Thor	Thor gets the ability to throw a Thunder Spear that deals damage and restores Thorforce upon hitting an enemy. Thor can leap to the spear, unleashing an AoE attack.
Duality Dance	Adam Warlock + Luna Snow	Luna Snow gains a new ability that tethers her to a nearby enemy, which she can damage, healing herself.
Explosive Entanglement	Gambit + Magneto/Rogue	Magneto can temporarily replace his primary attack with explosive greatswords. Rogue can empower her primary attacks, causing them to explode with AoE damage while healing allies.
Fastball Special	Wolverine + Hulk/The Thing	When Wolverine and Hulk or The Thing are on the same team, they can throw Logan, activating his empowered state.
First Steps	Human Torch + The Thing	Human Torch can carry The Thing before launching him to the ground.
Jeff Nado	Jeff the Land Shark + Storm	Jeff and Storm combine their ultimates into a raging twister that deals massive damage.
Parker Power-Up (New in Season 6)	Peni Parker + Spider-Man	Spider-Man gets a new ability to throw a web bomb, either dealing damage and applying spider tracers or giving him a web cluster charge and bonus health.
Planet X Pals	Groot + Rocket Raccoon/Jeff the Land Shark	When Rocket Raccoon or Jeff the Land Shark are near Groot, they can hop on Groot's shoulders for extra damage resistance. Only one character can do this at a time.
Primal Flame (Tweaked in Season 5)	Phoenix + Wolverine/Black Widow	Wolverine gains the Phoenix Force. When he activates Feral Leap, it will burn nearby enemies over time, and adds lifesteal to all of his attacks. Black Widow can activate healing bullets.
Stark Protocol (Tweaked in Season 3)	Iron Man + Ultron/Squirrel Girl	Squirrel Girl joins this team-up in Season 3. Squirrel Girl can throw a homing bomb that explodes on impact. Ultron uses a piercing unibeam to damage enemies and heal allies.
Stars Aligned	Captain America + Winter Soldier	Bucky can leap towards allies to reposition and unleash a shockwave that damages nearby enemies, letting him dive into the action even better. Meanwhile, Captain America can clash with an ally Winter Soldier to unleash a similar shockwave that debuffs nearby enemies.
Sword of Duality (Tweaked in Season 5.5)	Cloak & Dagger + Hawkeye/Psylocke	Hawkeye can enhance his katana, causing Crescent Slash to fire a wave of energy, buffing allies while damaging and anti-healing enemies. Psylocke can trigger a new ability, picking between Returning Shuriken to heal allies and damage enemies, or Dark Dagger to damage enemies around her and activate invisibility.
Symbiote Shenanigans (Tweaked in Season 3)	Venom + Jeff the Landshark/Hela	Hela joins this team-up in Season 3. Symbiotes increase the range of Hela's sphere ability, pulling enemies in, dealing damage, and slowing them down. Jeff gains Venom's symbiote to extend tendrils that link nearby allies for additional healing.
Vibrant Vitality	Mantis + Groot/Loki	Mantis shares her healing and damage-boosting powers with allies. Groot's Thorn Walls will periodically shoot healing at nearby allies. Loki's Regeneration Domain will grant a damage boost to allies within it.
