All-Ireland Senior Football Championship quarter-final draw explained

The two Ulster sides remaining in the 2022 All-Ireland SFC will learn their fate in Monday morning’s quarter-final draw.

Provincial winners Derry are in one half of the draw while Armagh have progressed through the Qualifiers and are in the opposite half of the draw.

The four provincial winners, namely Derry, Dublin, Kerry and Galway will take on one of the teams from the Qualifiers.

Armagh sealed their place in the draw with a stunning 10-point win over Donegal on Sunday following on from their round one victory over Tyrone.

Earlier on Sunday, Cork defeated Limerick 2-18 to 1-16 in Páirc Uí Chaoimh while Mayo and Clare were winners over Kildare and Roscommon respectively at Croke Park on Saturday.

The draw will take place on the Morning Ireland programme on RTÉ Radio 1 shortly after 8.30am.

Unlike the Qualifiers, repeat pairings will not be permitted. Therefore, Galway cannot play Mayo again and Kerry will avoid Cork.

The games are scheduled to take place on the weekend of June 25 and 25 with Croke Park expected to host two double-headers.

The semi-final line-up will then become clearer with Galway and Derry, or the team who eliminates them from in the last eight, set to meet in the semis while the same scenario applies for Leinster champions Dublin and Munster kingpins Kerry.
