All-Ireland first round qualifiers draw: Monaghan to take on Fermanagh in all-Ulster clash

Monaghan and Fermanagh, the two highest ranked counties in the first round qualifier draw, have been paired together in an all-Ulster clash.

The game is the standout among the eight ties that were made this morning and Monaghan will enjoy home advantage in Clones on Saturday week having been drawn out first.

One of the ties is as yet incomplete with Longford and Kildare having to go to a replay following their draw after extra time in Tullamore yesterday, though the loser will face the dreaded six-day turnaround with an away trip to Carlow, who were well beaten by Meath on Saturday.

Tipperary were drawn out first against Down though as they were a Division Two team this year, Paddy Tally’s side will enjoy home advantage given that they were in Division Three.

The games will take place the weekend after next with the CCCC meeting to nail down dates, times and venues.
