All-Ireland champions Tipperary bring Liam MacCarthy Cup to Crumlin Children's Hospital

All-Ireland champions Tipperary brought the Liam MacCarthy Cup to Crumlin and Temple Street children's hospitals for a special visit this morning.

The annual tradition of All-Ireland winners visiting hospitals the morning after the decider continued as returning manager Liam Sheedy, captain Seamus Callanan and players met patients in the heartwarming snaps.

There were lovely scenes in Crumlin as players signed autographs for fans outside the hospital and even met patients who were Tipperary fans - such as Shauna Burns and Holly Carroll.

The hospital's hardworking staff had their moment too as RTE presenter and commentator Marty Morrissey joined in as the team toured the hospital meeting other patients young and old, with none more excited than 10-year-old Cara O'Connell from Carrick-on-Suir.

Despite partying late into the night, the entire squad also travelled to Temple Street to meet the patients before they hit the road for Thurles.

Temple Street Hospital said: "Such a special morning here as the Tipperary Senior Hurlers dropped by our wards with the Liam McCarthy cup! Thanks so much to everyone on the team for popping in and sharing the excitement."

Celebrations are expected to continue long into the week after the 14-point victory at Croke Park on Sunday as the coveted cup is set to visit clubs and schools all over the county in the coming months.

And thousands of Tipperary fans are expected at a Semple Stadium homecoming this evening - with proceedings expected to get underway around 7 pm.
