'All I want is my baby boy back': Mother's heartbreak on anniversary of Bradley Lowery's death

Bradley Lowery's mam has posted a heartbreaking message on the two year anniversary of his death.

The six-year-old lost his battle with neuroblastoma on July 7, 2017 after a public fight which touched hearts across the country.

His family went public with his struggle in an effort to raise funds for treatment overseas but nothing could be done for the brave lad.

Heartbroken Gemma Lowery posted on Facebook: "2 year today my beautiful baby boy went to be an angel.

"7/7/17 13.35 a date, a time I'll never forget for all the wrong reasons.

"To be totally honest with you all I really don’t know what to write.

"My heart hurts my eyes are sore and all I want is my baby boy back."

Efforts to raise money for those in similar situations is still being carried out in Bradley's name.

A charity football match held in his memory raised £1,570 on Sunday.

The Bradley Lowery Foundation has also been given the go-ahead to build an idyllic retreat for seriously ill children and their families.

Planning permission has been granted following Scarborough Borough Council's donation of a £50,000 plot of land to the charity for free.
